Quote of the Day

Every now and then I get the itch to work through some of the books I acquired back in the day from the library of my wife’s late grandfather.  He was a pastor in the Baptist General Conference for more than 40 years and had amassed quite a collection in his time.  The latest of these books I’m working through is Our Bible by William Holloway Main.  It was published by The Judson Press.  Although the printing I have is noted as the new edition, revised and enlarged, I am unable to find a clear copyright or publication date in the text.  A search on Google Books, indicates an original publication date of 1928.  More recently, this book was reprinted by Kessinger Publishing, LLC in September 2007.  I very much appreciate the simplicity and the deep truth contained in this quote from the first page.

We love and believe our Bible, for it is a revelation from God.
