When I arrived home today, I was excited to find a copy of Thank You for Thanksgiving waiting in my office. My thanks to Rosemary Parkinson at Concordia Publishing House for furnishing me with this review copy. I’m excited about this book for several reasons. First of all, the entire story is told in rhyme. Second, the illustrations by John Walker are excellent. Third, the book follows a family’s preparation for Thanksgiving dinner and ends with each of them contributing something that they’re personally thankful for to the prayer given before the meal. It’s nice to see a holiday book with themes that are positive towards the family & towards prayer. If you have a family tradition like we do of buying one new children’s book for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas each year, you may want to give this one a look. I’ll post a more detailed review in a few days.
