(sung to the tune of 12 Days of Christmas)
On the 4th day before Christmas, Bible Geek Gone Wild gave to me 4 new books to help me learn theology……
Welcome to day 4 of Bible Geek Gone Wild’s 12 Days Before Christmas. Many thanks to Rosemary Parkinson at Concordia Publishing House, India Cannon at B & H Publishing Group, and Kathryn McIntier at P & R Publishing for providing the prizes for today’s contest. In honor of day 4, we elected for a prize pack of 4 great books.

Author Anthony Steinbronn examines the postmodern perspective that views the Christian church as only one of many brands in the ideological supermarket. He critiques the position that Christianity no longer has ultimate truth but must take its place alongside numerous other religions. How should Christians respond in this pluralistic age? Steinbronn advocates that we need to know how different religions view the world, humanity’s reason for existence, sin and its consequences, and eternal life.
Armed with this knowledge, Christians can communicate the truth of God’s Word to a world searching for truth and meaning.

Because it is conspicuously absent from more than one early Greek manuscript, the final section of the gospel of Mark (16:9-20) that details Christ’s resurrection remains a constant source of debate among serious students of the New Testament.
Perspectives on the Ending of Mark presents in counterpoint form the split opinions about this difficult passage with a goal of determining which is more likely. Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary professors Maurice Robinson and David Alan Black argue for the verses’ authenticity. Keith Elliott (University of Leeds) and Daniel Wallace (Dallas Theological Seminary) contend that they are not original to Mark’s gospel. Darrell Bock (Dallas Theological Seminary) responds to each view and summarizes the state of current research on the entire issue.

The devotional writings of noted Swedish pastor, bishop, and author Bo Giertz offer what foreword writer John Pless calls “sturdy confessional Lutheranism with warm piety born of confidence in the Gospel.”
To Live With Christ translates a collection of Giertz’s classic devotions for those who want to explore their Christian faith and to connect God’s Word in their daily lives. The devotional readings embrace the church-year calendar, just as Giertz did, preparing you for Sunday worship service.
Each Christ-centered devotion includes a Bible reading, meditation, and a prayer. The collection points readers to the cross of Christ, offering the assurance of God’s grace, love, and forgiveness, helping them draw closer to their Lord.

A full treatment of Reformed systematic theology that is accessible to church officers and interested lay readers, as well as teachers and students of theology. Formatted in two visually distinct levels of discussion for use as an introduction or for more in-depth study.
“The appearance of this work in English is most welcome. Written from a confessionally Reformed perspective, with a special affinity for the work of Calvin and Herman Bavinck, it is alert to contemporary issues and problems without obscuring its primary concern to show the biblical basis of doctrines. Without sacrificing depth, it succeeds admirably with the wider circle of readers it has in view—other theologically interested persons as well as pastors, and teachers and students of theology.”-Richard B. Gaffin Jr.

While I actually knew the answers, I still checked the actual wording, so maybe I should get a minus mark…if there are other entries…*; )
Don’t worry Nancy. I asked Shaun before and he just wants the answers. I think you’ll be good!
Hey Shaun,
I tried to submit the form but it may not have gone through. Can you see that I’ve submitted? Wouldn’t want to break the rule of more than one submission per contest day
Thanks,
David
David,
I saw your entry come through. Thanks for trying again.
Nancy,
Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to double-check your answers. Sometimes half the fun is using some of your Biblical studies resources to look things up.
Bob,
If I approve it for you, I guess I need to approve it for everybody.
