Learning to abide with Psalm 23

The past few weeks, I’ve been reading Paul E. Miller’s new book titled A Praying Life.  As I’ve been working through the text, I’ve become more aware of how cynical I tend to be when it comes to trusting God and praying.  More often than not, I mistakenly think I have it all figured out or I know best.  When I’m trusting in my own understanding, I’m certainly not abiding in Christ.  In light of this, I’ve been praying through Psalm 23, asking that God would show me how to abide in Him through Jesus Christ.  In case you want to join me in the journey out of cynicism, I’ve included Psalm 23 below for your reading pleasure.  Have a blessed day!

1 The Lord is my dshepherd; I shall not ewant.
2 He makes me lie down in green fpastures.
He leads me beside still waters.1
3 He grestores my soul.
He hleads me in ipaths of righteousness2

4 Even though I kwalk through the valley of lthe shadow of death,3
I will mfear no evil,
for nyou are with me;

they comfort me.
5 You pprepare a table before me
in qthe presence of my enemies;

my scup overflows.
