Much to my friend Peter Edstrom’s (www.edstrom.net/blog) delight, I finally took the plunge and bought something other than an iPod Shuffle from the Apple store. I’ve had my iPad for a little more than a week now and I’m loving it. Since I’ve never had an iPod with an acutal screen, my ease of listening to audiobooks, music, and podcasts has gone up exponentially. I like the ease of keeping up with my e-mail and web surfing utilizing Mail and Safari. I also like that I’m able to add apps and music/podcasts from iTunes and App Store right on the iPad. Look Mom, no more synching.
Battery life has been awesome at about 12 hours. I haven’t had the chance to read a full e-book on the iPad, but will try to get a review book for the iPad and will let my readers know how the experience goes. Last but not least, below is a list of my favorite apps thus far:

Yea Apple! My stock (the little that I have) keeps going up up up!
I’m a firm believer that the iPad will forever change how we think of computers. A couple years from now, we’ll look back at “normal” laptops and comment on how quaint the form factor was.
Wow. Congrats on the iPad. I’ll have to check it out when next I see you or next time I come over to “my office”.
Agreed. Much like the iPhone, I think it will entice those who would’ve never considered buying a Mac because of price to seriously consider moving away from the PC due to the great experience they’re having on their other Apple device.
It’s sort of a belated birthday present. I’m actually using the wordpress app to write this response.
