We found out late last night that my wife’s father had passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. It was a surreal moment when I realized that we had now lost both of our earthly fathers. We cried and prayed with our children that we would rely on our heavenly Father during this difficult time.
I often find that during times of mourning I am able to think more clearly about what is truly important in this earthly life. As we walk through this season, I’ll be praying that God will use this time to refine the vision and plan I have for my own family, helping me to be mindful of my actions each and every day in order that I might leave a Godly legacy for my children, grandchildren, and beyond.
I kindly ask that you keep my wife, our family, and my wife’s extended family in prayer as we mourn this loss.
Gerry was an endless tinkerer and builder. The picture below is a good representation of Gerry in his “natural habitat.”
I am very thankful for the many things he taught me about fixing cars and houses.
