The latest addition to TheGoodBook for Children series is titled The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross: The True Story of Why Jesus Died and Rose Again. This great new children’s book features engaging text written by Carl Laferton and captivating illustrations by Catalina Echeverri.
This book will help your kids ages 3-6 better understand the necessity of Jesus’ death and resurrection. The book starts out in the Garden of Eden, where God walked amongst his people. Once sin enters the world, there is a separation between God and his people. Warrior angels guarded the entrance to the garden and a curtain separated God and the people in both the tabernacle and later in the temple. Something new is set in motion when Jesus comes on the scene. At the time of his death, the temple curtain is torn in two, “God had ripped up the KEEP OUT sign.” The book closes with Jesus’ resurrection and points to our hope of heaven, where He has gone to prepare a place for each of his followers.
I’ve shared this book with my kids ages 2-8 and it’s has opened up some great discussions about Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross is another fine addition to The Good Book Company’s growing lineup of children’s books. In my estimation it has definitely earned 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended!
