Here are some of the great gifts I got from friends and family this year:
The Referral Engine: Teaching Your Business to Market Itself by John Jantsch
This book was recommended by an acquaintance who does social media and marketing for a Christian book publisher. I trust her recommendations, so I added it to my Amazon wishlist. Many thanks to my sister and brother-in-law for blessing me with this great book. The quotation that caught my eye on the front cover is, “This book will pay for itself in one day.” -Seth Godin. I have always had good luck with books Seth recommends, so I think this is going to be a worthwhile read. Perhaps I’ll start reading it after I finish this blog post.
The Big 3 – Major Events that Changed History Forever by Dr. Henry Morris III
One of the topics I’ve decided to explore deeper in 2012 is the debate that rages on concerning how we handle the book of Genesis. The first book I’m reading on this topic is The Big 3 – Major Events that Changed History Forever (Master Books, 2009).
It just wouldn’t be Christmas without some of my favorite treats from Minnesota-based Caribou Coffee. I made out like a bandite this year, receiving 3 pounds of Reindeer Blend as well as some Caribou Nibblers and $30 in gift cards. Many thanks to my family members who want to see my writing and business aspirations off to a very caffeinated start in 2012.
Incase Neoprene Slip Sleeve Plus for iPad, Gray by Incase Designs
I bought my original iPad case along with my iPad, the week the generation 1 iPad was released. It has served me well, but it’s starting to get a bit worn. My good friend Peter Edstrom blessed me with this new neoprene slip cover, which comes with a handy flexible stand for the iPad. It’s ideal for protecting your iPad when you’re on the go.
My uncle Pete and I share an affinity for good beer. He sought to make my Christmas a bit more merry by wrapping up two cases of beer from New Belgium Brewing company. They’re best known for their Fat Tire Amber Ale. In addition to Fat Tire, some of my favorites from New Belgium Brewing are Ranger Inda Pale Ale and Trippel Belgian Style Ale.
