It was 491 years ago that Martin Luther laid the foundation for the protestant reformation when he nailed the 95 theses to the castle church door in Wittenburg. I am thankful that Luther had the courage to speak up about the abuses he saw in the Catholic church of his day. At breakfast today, I read Martin Luther: A Man Who Changed the World to my family and we spent a few minutes talking about the importance of Luther and his place in the protestant reformation. I highly recommend this book and the other children’s books Paul Maier has published with Concordia Publishing House over the past few years. Earlier in the week Jim West made reference to an interesting archaeological project that has been underway for several years at three different excavation sites:
